Forbes Estimates Wolfe Herd’s Fortune at $230 Million

The Key To Success

Forbes has estimated that Bumble has earned Whitney Wolfe Herd an impressive $230 million fortune. It also suggests that the dating app is worth somewhere in the region of $1 billion.

Wolfe Herd was named as a member of the magazine’s 30 under 30, following their profile of her at the end of 2017.

She just missed out this year on Forbes’ list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women, but they expect her to make the cut very soon.

BFF was released in 2016, to help women find friends, and Bizz followed in 2017, to encourage women to partake in career networking. These two new ventures went some of the way to boost the company’s overall valuation.

The article goes on to describe Wolfe Herd’s exit from Tinder, the app that she co-founded, and the concurrent sexual harassment case.

She initially had no intention of getting back into online dating, but did so after a meeting with Badoo founder Andrey Andreev, who encouraged her to stick to what she does best. Bumble was created shortly afterwards.

“What if women make the first move, send the first message? And if they don’t, the match disappears after 24 hours, like in Cinderella, the pumpkin and the carriage?,” she said to Forbes.

“If you can genuinely say you are creating something that would help you, that would solve a personal problem, a personal struggle for you, you are going to find success.”
