One in Two British Muslims Have Used SingleMuslim.com
This week it has been announced that award winning Muslim matchmaking service, SingleMuslim.com, is celebrating 1 million registrations from the UK.
The platform has estimated that half of all British Muslims aged between 18 and 64 years old are active or previous users of SingleMuslim.com.
The platform was launched in 2000 by award winning entrepreneur and philanthropist Adeem Younis in West Yorkshire, England.
Founder and CEO Younis said:“British Muslims of my generation are seeking to reconcile their globalised contemporary identities with the timeless values of our faith. I came to realise traditional routes to find a partner no longer made sense to the millions of Muslims who call Britain home. That’s why we set up SingleMuslim.com.”
He added: “Amidst the backdrop of forced marriages and honour killings, we created an effective digital solution that has led a cultural shift amongst British Muslims seeking to embrace their hybrid identities.
“With seamless cross-platform use, including Android and iOS apps, we’ve utilised the latest technologies to address the modern-day challenges facing faith communities. With over ten people finding their partners on SingleMuslim.com every single day, our success speaks for itself.”
SingleMuslim.com stays sensitive to the faith and cultural sensibilities of British Muslims who come from diverse backgrounds by enabling users to filter their potential matches based on levels of education, profession and religiosity.
Younis adds: “Community organisations and structures take a long time to evolve, in the vacuum SingleMuslim.com has created a safe space for British Muslims to be themselves and find likeminded partners online. We’re noticing now similar cultural shifts in territories around the world and are excited about taking our expertise to expand globally.”
SingleMuslim.com currently has over 2 million members around the world, over 50,000 success stories since its launch. It is the 8th most popular multi-platform service across the UK.
