Lunch Actually & Diverse Launch Matchmaking Platform Tailor For Professional Japanese Singles

Tailor Lunch Actually

Asian dating company Lunch Actually is branching out into Japan with the launch of a new premium matchmaking service.

Tailor is a collaborative effort between Lunch Actually and Japanese internet dating company Diverse Co., that offers personalised matchmaking for Japanese professionals.

The matchmaking service works very simply: once signed up, singles meet with their personal consultant to talk over their dating preferences and what they are looking for.

The consultant will then use Lunch Actually’s “Soulseek” matching system, which the company says “ensures that at least 85% of matches are rated as good to excellent by our members”, to help find potential partners for their clients and organise dates.

Violet Lim, CEO and co-founder of Lunch Actually, said: “We are excited to partner with Diverse in launching Tailor in Japan.

“Having served tens of thousands of busy working professionals and successfully helped thousands of couples in South East Asia and Hong Kong, we are positive that Tailor, modelled upon Lunch Actually, would modernise and revolutionise the dating service industry in Japan.”

To mark the launch of Tailor, Lunch Actually is offering to wave the registration fee (normally ¥30,000, around $271) for the first 100 people who sign up as a premium member.

These people will also be prioritised when it comes to matching and organising dates.

Lunch Actually said it is looking for professional men aged 27-45 and women aged 23-35 to sign up to Tailor.

Lunch Actually first launched its matchmaking service in South East Asia, opening offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta and Penang.

The company has so far organised 90,000 dates across South East Asia and claims an 85% date satisfaction rate.

It was announced earlier this week that LunchClick, a dating app owned by Lunch Actually, has updated to let singles create their own Q&A-style messages to send to matches.
