Bumble

Dating app Bumble has hit 11.5m users, the company announced over the New Year weekend.

The announcement came in a 2016 recap on Bumble’s blog, where the brand rounded up the year in its second annual review.

Bumble said: “We took great strides in 2016 towards changing the stereotypical gender dynamics in dating. Women made the first move more than 200 million times on Bumble.”

And at the turn of the year, Bumble now has 11.5m users, with 1.7m total messages sent and 50bn swipes taking place on the dating platform.

The app has reached this very impressive milestone in just two years, and confirms Bumble’s place amongst the top dating apps in the world.

In comparison, Happn, which launched in early 2014, hit 23m users last October, up from 17m in May.

In terms of most active cities, New York City came top, followed by Los Angeles and London.
