Match Group Hires Expedia’s Legal Expert On Acquisitions

The Match Group has just hired Jared Sine as its General Counsel and Secretary.

Sine joins the public dating company from former IAC-owned Expedia, where he was VP of Associate General Counsel.

In this role, Sine oversaw all legal aspects of Expedia’s mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and other strategic initiatives, as well as all post-acquisition legal and integration matters.

During his time at Expedia, he led deal teams responsible for acquisitions of over $8bn, including those of HomeAway, Orbitz & Travelocity.

Speaking about the appointment, Match Group CEO & Chairman Greg Blatt said: “We at Match Group are absolutely thrilled to bring Jared on board. Jared’s extensive legal experience and understanding will make a tremendous addition to our leadership team as we continue to grow.”

Sine started on 5th July and is working out of Match Group’s Dallas office.

Prior to joining Expedia, he started his legal career at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, before moving to Latham & Watkins, where he advised leading Fortune 500 Companies on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and other general corporate matters.

Earlier this year, Match Group hired a new VP of Public Affairs, Matt David, along with ex-Yahoo executive Peter Foster to lead its advertising business.
