Urban Crush Uses Musical Preference to Connect City Singles
Crush Mobile, the creators of apps like JCrush and Voof, have just released another addition to their dating portfolio, with Urban Crush.
The app is billed as a “new dating app for urban millennials” for single city-dwellers looking to connect with others based on location and music taste.
Users can select which genres of music they enjoy, and search for local singles that have the same interests.
Urban Crush’s co-founder and CBDO, Natasha Nova told The Source: “Urban Crush celebrates African-American culture and identity, and we want to become a partner on this path toward helping others find true love.
“Our goal is to become the premier dating app for black millennials connecting them across the country.”
Urban Crush is the latest release from Crush Mobile, who own a portfolio of dating sites, including Jewish dating app JCrush, Latino app MiCrush, dog-date service Voof and senior dating 2ndCrush.
The app includes a Tinder-like swipe feature to deem a user as a “Crush” or “Nah,” and if a crush is mutual, the app will connect the two users in a private chat.
The What’s Up feature allows users to message each other without waiting for a mutual match.
CEO Sonya Kreizman said: “It was something we identified as lacking in the vibrant African-American singles community and something we hope adds to the overall dating experience.”
