Jiayuan Hits 110m Users After Mobile Push

Jiayuan

China’s leading dating site, Jiayuan, has reached 110m registered users.

The site has ramped up mobile monetisation, now seeing 24.8m users on their mobile platform, and 31.2m active installs.

Jiayuan was started ten years ago, and accounts for 58.4% of China’s total time spent online dating, according to comScore.

Their mobile push is in response to huge competition from location-based messaging apps such as WeChat, Momo and Line – which see a lot of dating and hookup activity.

Mr. Linguang Wu, CEO of Jiayuan said:

“Looking to the future, we will continue to build upon this massive database of marriage minded singles by integrating it with our proprietary CRM system in an effort to consolidate the traditional matchmaking business in China which we believe is poised for a period of explosive growth.

“2014 is an important year for us strategically as we make investments in our database of eligible singles to generate new revenue streams and ensure the long-term sustainability of our business.”

The company reached 100m users in January.

Gong Haiyan, the founder of Jiayuan, recently stepped down from her management job at the company, and now runs a number of online education businesses.
