Tinder is bringing its dating service to living rooms around the world with its new Apple TV app.

The new release lets singles hook up their dating account to an Apple TV and swipe through profiles with the remote.

The HD app sees Tinder play into the app’s appeal as a group activity, pitching the TV app as a fun game to play with friends and family.

In a blog post, Tinder said: “Invite friends and family, set the playlist to shuffle and put out the chips and dip. With a new, swipeable remote control and the world’s hottest app now in HD, modern dating is taking a page from the age-old book of matchmaking.

“Let’s face it–the people who know you best have traditionally had a high rate of success when helping you pick a partner.”

Once you are signed in, Apple TV users can click the trackpad to see more details about a profile, as well as swiping left, right or up to Super Like a profile.

If you are a Tinder Plus subscriber, you can also use the Passport feature to swipe from different locations, as well rewinding a swipe by shaking the remote.

In a post on its new Tech Blog, Tinder’s Shawn Gong spoke about building the new Apple TV app using Swift, and how it was the “perfect platform” to leverage the programming language.

Gong said: “We decided that the goal of our Apple TV integration should be two-fold: 1) to serve our end users by providing a new use case–the “party” swipe, a fun activity with friends and 2) to create a lightweight, modern app that would serve as an experiment field for new architecture proposals.

“With clear goals and a narrow area of focus, we moved forward quickly. What we achieved in a small amount of time was encouraging.”

It’s the latest in a consistent stream of new product updates and releases from Tinder in 2016, one that shows the dating company’s commitment to pushing the space forward as it closes out a strong year.
